Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

When we see the face of Jesus, we see the face of God. We see a man who had intimate communication with God. We hear about a man who preached about establishing the kingdom of God on earth.

God’s desire for humanity, as expressed by Jesus, is for us to live together in community…caring for each other… having love and compassion for all…sharing justly of everything that this earth, God’s creation…God’s household…provides. We are to live together in peace though justice.

It is as simple and as complicated as that.

Grace Mission Statement

“As a community of faith, we acknowledge that God calls us to be on a spiritual journey, following the way of Christ. By reaching out and gathering in we seek to share hope and love with all people.

We will nurture the spiritual growth in the people of Grace United Church, be partners with community agencies, promote interchurch/interfaith dialogue, social justice and care for all creation.

A New Creed

We are not alone, we live in God’s world.
We believe in God;
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others by the Spirit.

We trust in God.

We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God’s presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.

In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.  We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.
